Butter Cream Frosting

cakeI love frosting, either on a cake or by itself. Licking the bowl after my mother made frosting is a cherished childhood memory. I adapted this recipe from one of my mother’s old cookbooks.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of milk (You may need a little more if the frosting is too thick.)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

Blend the butter and powdered sugar together. Stir in the milk and vanilla and blend until smooth.
